The marks are off about 7 or 8 degrees from zero (shows + 8), (also the timing numbers are upside down as they are for a Chevy that reads from the driver side instead of passenger side). I filed my pointer to match zero. WebThe timing belt was just placed onto the cam gears. I just slid the belt under the damper. The belt cannot be "installed" until the damper is completely on the nose. I used the ati install kit using the hemi adapted since it had the same threads as the crank for this engine.

Take out the old bolt, install the new one and torque to 37ft lbs - 40ft lbs. Then torque 140 degrees to lock in the bolt. If ATI is producing pulleys that wobble, that's just unsat quality control.
